A man went to the hospital because of hearing loss, and an insect was found in his ear

Ali Demir, a farmer living in Alaşehir district of Manisa, sought medical attention due to ear pain and hearing loss. The 41-year-old farmer, who has been experiencing increasing ear pain and hearing loss in recent days, went to a private hospital in Salihli. During an examination by ENT specialist Dr. Mehmet Türkyılmaz, a dead Japanese beetle was found in his left ear.

Dr. Türkyılmaz successfully removed the beetle in an operation. Ali Demir recounted the unusual incident, stating that he initially thought something had gotten into his ear while working in the vineyard. "As the days went by, I started experiencing hearing loss and pain in my ear. It turned out the cause of my ear problem was a Japanese beetle. The dead beetle was removed by ENT specialist Dr. Mehmet Türkyılmaz," he said.
