Thirteen people including doctors were arrested for issuing fake disability reports
13 of the 21 people detained in the operation carried out against the suspects who were determined to have caused a loss of 100 million lira to the public by issuing fake disability reports in 12 provinces, centered in Kırklareli, were arrested.
In the study carried out by Kırklareli Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate and Intelligence Branch Directorate teams, it was determined that a fake disability report was issued and the state suffered millions of liras in losses.
They received 150 thousand lira per report
After nearly a year of work, the police identified 2 organized crime groups that issued fake disability reports. It was determined that the members of the organization used the 'wild card patient' method, using blood and urine samples of real patients and received 150 thousand liras per report. In the study, it was determined that among the suspects, 2 doctors and 3 medical secretaries received bribes, and 1 teacher was appointed with a false report. Among those who received fake reports: It was stated that there were people who purchased vehicles without Special Consumption Tax (SCT) and those who retired unfairly and were given a disability pension, and the public suffered a loss of approximately 100 million liras.
5 people were released under judicial control
Following the organization leaders who were previously arrested within the scope of the operation, 21 suspects were caught and detained in the operation carried out simultaneously in 12 provinces, including Kırklareli, Diyarbakır and Istanbul. Following their procedures at the police station, 3 of the suspects who were referred to the courthouse for the crimes of 'Qualified fraud', 'Forgery of official documents', 'Bribery' and 'Establishing an organization to commit a crime' were released from the prosecutor's office. 13 of the suspects who were brought to court were arrested, and 5 were released on probation.
