In Uzunköprü, Edirne, workers of Özşen Mining, a company belonging to the Kiremitçiler Group owned by Bekir Kiremitçi, former Deputy Chairman of the AKP Tekirdağ Provincial Branch, locked themselves inside the mine and began a hunger strike on the 25th day of their resistance.

The workers, who made a statement under the leadership of the Independent Mining Workers' Union, stated that they had done everything to make their voices heard, but were constantly obstructed. The miners stated that those who have failed to grant their rights will be responsible for anything that happens to their colleagues from this point on.
