It is possible to look 30 years younger with facial rejuvenation surgeries

Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Stating that interest in facial rejuvenation operations has increased with increasing life expectancy, Hayati Akbaş said, "With today's plastic surgery, some patients can achieve a 20-30 years younger appearance. However, what is important is how the person feels; not everyone needs to have plastic surgery."

Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Hayati Akbaş said that one of the most frequently performed aesthetic operations today is facial rejuvenation surgery. Expressing that the effects of aging become more visible as human life increases, Akbaş stated that many people turn to surgical interventions in order to feel younger and more dynamic. Stating that old age is most clearly seen on the face, Prof. Dr. Akbaş said, "Over time, muscles relax, eyelids fall, bags under the eyes form. Due to the effect of gravity, cheeks sag downwards, wrinkles and folds occur in the neck area. These changes can negatively affect people's morale and motivation, regardless of whether they are men or women."

"Results that provide 10 to 30 years of rejuvenation can be achieved"

Emphasizing that the technological and scientific level reached by plastic surgery produces successful results in the field of facial rejuvenation, Akbaş said, "Sometimes, results can be obtained that can take people back 10, 20 or even 30 years. This can make people look younger, more energetic, more beautiful or more handsome. It can make positive contributions to a person's motivation in marriage life, business life and the social environment."

"Those who are proud of their signs of aging do not need surgery"

Underlining that facial rejuvenation surgeries are not necessary for everyone, Prof. Dr. Akbaş stated that some people see the signs of aging as a part of their life experiences and memories. Akbaş said, "Sometimes I encounter people who say, 'Sir, the aging marks on my face are a part of the life I live. I am proud of them.' If a person can say this sincerely, this should be respected and there is no need for surgery."

"Competition in business life increases aesthetic demands"

Stating that they think that some people, especially those working with younger generations in business life, may experience disadvantages due to their appearance, Akbaş said, "Some of my patients coming from abroad state that they have to compete with young employees and that they are worried that looking old may cause them to lose their jobs. Although they feel energetic, they may request plastic surgery due to the signs of aging on their faces."

"What matters is how the person feels"

Noting that social changes such as marriage and parenthood at a later age have also increased the interest in plastic surgery, Akbaş said that some mothers and fathers may be affected by the negative experiences their children have in the school environment and may want to look younger. Akbas said:

"If a person loves himself, is happy with his appearance, and if the signs of aging do not cause him to lack self-confidence, he does not need surgery. The important thing here is that the person evaluates his own needs and expectations correctly. There is no single truth valid for everyone; what is important is how the person feels."
